This week has been one of the hardest weeks to get through while I have been pregnant! I have been through every emotion I can think of! It started out Monday with the Camry breaking down. Jared calls and I go try to jump it off but nothing worked. We have it towed to a local shop and they tell us the next day that, you guessed it, we need a new engine! I burst in to tears when I heard the news. I thought, are you serious?! Adios Camry! We just replaced the engine in the Expedition back in March. We are having no luck with cars these days! To make things better the "Check Engine" light came on last week and we had to take the Expedition back to the shop to see what was up. Luckily they remembered us and went right to work to find out what was wrong. I was sitting inside with the owner of the shop when his son came in with a piece of equipment and he gave me this look. He then proceeded to tell me, in the most serious voice, "I can't believe it, it needs another new engine!" I then proceeded to burst in to tears again. He then, very apologetically, said he was kidding and I was the 4th preggo he had made cry that week! And it was only Tuesday! By the time we got home I was mentally exhausted from dealing with cars and physically exhausted from being out at Alabama Adventure all day.
An update on the sleeping situation: it is going up and down. Caelan has been waking up at night wanting us to come in to his room and lay down with him. This all started the night of the fireworks on the 4th. Well, Monday night (day of dead car) we let him scream it out until he went to sleep himself. This took an hour and was 10 pm before he quit. But then at 4:45 he was back up again and we let him go again and it took 40 minutes for him to go back to sleep. I had to be up at 6:15 for the day, which meant little sleep for mom. What a day to look forward to!
On to better news, we did have some great things that happened this week with other family. My nephew turned 10 on Tuesday. My sister, nephew, and her fiance moved back to Birmingham about a month ago so this was the first party we have been able to attend in several years. Happy Birthday Hunter J! Also, my step-brother and his wife welcomed their first child on Tuesday! Kristen had an easy labor and Ashlyn was born just after 11 am. She weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. One surprise was some red hair she came out with. Mom and Dad couldn't be happier! We are so glad we have a new niece to welcome in to the family!
Our final piece of good news is we are headed to the BEACH!!!! Praise God! I think that is one of the only things that has gotten me through this week. Because of everything that has happened I am just now getting to the packing phase for the trip! Oh well, Jared is off tom. and he can finish where I stop. I hope everyone has a great couple of days and we will be back next week.
I know this has been an extremlly long post, but I had to vent! And I have to say I feel much better!
